Doggie Day Care
Spending the day playing, chewing, running and just hanging out with pals in a safe, clean and stimulating environment – our Doggie Daycare program is expertly designed to give your pet a full day of fun. Completely supervised by our trained staff with specially-designed play groups for large and small dogs, the Doggie Daycare program at Sumner Veterinary Hospital is an terrific way for your pet to have a doggone good time!
Because group play is such an important part of Doggie Daycare, our staff conducts pre-admission screenings to ensure potential attendees are neither extremely timid nor very aggressive. Specially-designed play groups for large and small dogs ensure the experience is beneficial to puppies and older pets alike. To ensure the safety and health of your dog and all our guests, we’ve established the following guidelines.
- Dogs must be at least 3 months old.
- Females over six months must be spayed. Unaltered males are allowed on an individual basis.
- Owners must submit proof that their dog is current for Rabies, Distemper, Parvo virus and Bordetella vaccinations. We accept vaccine titers for Distemper and Parvo in lieu of vaccines for dog 3 years old or older.
- We require a fecal exam that includes Giardia testing to be performed by Sumner Veterinary Hospital prior to admittance and every February and August.
- All dogs must be free of any condition that could jeopardize other guests. Owners must certify that their dog is in good health and has not been ill during the past 30 days. Dogs that have been ill will need a veterinarian certification to be admitted.
- We are a flea-free facility. If a pet is found to have fleas or flea dirt, the pet will be treated at the owner’s expense.
- Dogs must be friendly and willing to share food and toys. Owners must certify that their dog has not harmed nor been aggressive toward people or other dogs.
