In 1983 Dr. Kathy Wendt had a vision to build a world-class, state-of-the-art medical practice and training facility dedicated to the health and well-being of your pet. Her commitment to designing a pet care program specific to the medical, behavioral, training and daily needs of your individual pet was, and is still, the mission of Sumner Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Wendt has grown Sumner Veterinary Hospital to a custom built, dynamic, 40,000 square foot complex on three acres. The campus of Sumner Veterinary Hospital includes a regional center of medical excellence housing the veterinary hospital, lodging and daycare facility, and grooming suite. The spectacular training and agility center, It’s a Dog’s World, is the premier dog training facility in the Pacific Northwest, and is the model for facilities across the country. One dozen well-established veterinarians, 100 animal care specialists and support staff all work together to insure Dr. Wendt’s mission continues to be delivered to our valuable clients and their beloved pets every day.
